Demat account fraud helpline number: Continuing with its 'operation 'Demat Daka', Zee Business has released a WhatsApp number and email id to which victims of online fraud can send messages to report unauthorised trading in their accounts. The development comes after Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi, in a special show 'Demat Daka' aired on Tuesday, has revealed the modus operandi of scamsters who had been hacking demat accounts and wiping out funds of investors.

He had explained how they had been executing the fraud by just making a single call. Fraudsters, who disguise themselves as brokers, make a call in the name of completing KYC. Once they earn their trust, they ask for OTP from them. As the victims share their OTP, the fraudsters defraud investors by either transferring their funds or through some unauthorised transactions. 

In many cases, it was found that these fraudsters also replaced good stocks with penny shares. Zee Business initiative came in response to several complaints made to the channel by the victims of demat fraud.
