The Indian markets concluded Thursday’s session on a positive note, which was in-line with global peers. Sensex closed over 500 points higher and Nifty50 settled above 17650-level, aided by IT, Banking and Financial Services stocks today.

At the market close, the BSE Sensex was up 515.31 points or 0.81 per cent to 59,332.6 and Nifty50 was up 124.25 points or 0.71 per cent to 17,659. Following the benchmarks suite, even the broader markets surged as both mid and small-cap indices gained around 1 per cent at the close.

As many as 29 stocks advanced and 21 declined on Nifty50 today at close. Banking and financial stocks Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, HDFC, and State Bank of India were among the top Nifty gainers, each surged between 2-3 per cent at the market close.

On the contrary, Tata Consumer and Apollo Hospital slipped most in the trade on Thursday, each down over 2 per cent, followed by ITC, NTPC, and HUL each dipped between 1-2 per cent at the market close on Thursday.

The majority of the Nifty sectoral indices gained, Nifty Bank and Financial Services gained each by over 1.5 per cent. Nifty IT gained most by around 2 per cent at the market close. While Nifty FMCG dragged the market most by nearly 1 per cent, followed by Nifty Auto and Metal.
