The pharmaceutical major Cipla registered better than expected third-quarter earnings for the financial year 2021-22 (Q3FY22). Most of the analysts had estimated that the profit would show a dip year-on-year YoY, and revenue may jump marginally by around 2 per cent.

However, both the top and bottom line of the company came above expectations, as the former was reported flat by 0.7 per cent YoY rise to Rs 756.9 crore in Q3FY22 as compared to 751.6 crore a year ago quarter, while the latter jumped 6 per cent to Rs 5479 crore from Rs 5169 crore YoY.

Similarly, the company’s EDBITDA came at exact amount of the same quarter a year ago, that is Rs 1231 crore in the Q3FY22. While margins see a dip of 130 basis points to 22.5 per cent from 23.8 per cent YoY, which is also above Street expectations, as it was seen between 200-250 bps lower.
