India Post which works under the aegis of the Ministry of Communications recently came up with an opportunity which offers high salary for lakhs of job aspirants as per the 7th Pay CPC. The Department of Posts had earlier through a notification invited applications for various posts from interested and eligible candidates for the posts of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) (General Central Service, GR.C Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial).

The last date to apply for the above posts ends on 10 March 2021. The applications should reach by 1700 hrs.

See 7th CPC Pay scale here - Rs 19900 in Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Period of Probation: The jobs offer 2 years of probation for direct recruits.

Age Limit:  

The age limit for the said posts 18 to 27 yrs. As per the notification, the age limit is relaxable by 5 yrs for SC and ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. And for Government Servants it is up to 40 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government and for Ex-Serviceman up to a maximum of 3 years [08 ( 3+ 5 ) years for SC & ST and 06 (3+3) years for OBC] after deduction of the Military Service rendered from the actual age].

The caste certificate submitted in the prescribed format for appointment to posts under the Government of India will be considered for availing age relaxation under SC/ST/OBC/ESM. The crucial date for determining age limit is 10 March 2021.

Educational and other qualifications: See the desired qualifications for the above posts here:

  1. Experience of driving light and heavy motor vehicle for at least three years and possession of a valid driving license for light and heavy motor vehicles.
  2. Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle).
  3. Candidates should be 10th Standard qualified from a recognised Board or institute.

Desirable qualification: Three years’ service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers.
 
Method of Selection: Selection of Driver shall be made based on driving test to assess their driving skills of light and heavy motor vehicles.
