The trail run was conducted a day after the blue and white train arrived in the state from Chennai. The trail run was conducted from platform number 22 of the Howrah station.

It is to be noted that the Vande Bharat is going to be the second express train between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. The first one is Shatabdi Express which takes around eight hours to cover the distance between the two stations.

Sources said that there are plans to run the train at least six days a week. It will reportedly depart from the Howrah in the morning and reach NJP in the afternoon. After one hour halt, it will start the return journey and reach Howrah at around 11 pm the same day.

The Vande Bharat Express train is likely to halt at Malda Town.

The train has been manufactured at Chennai's Integral Coach Factor (ICF). The train's fare has not been announced but it is likely to be higher than Shatabdi Express.

It is worth mentioning that the coaches of Vande Bharat Express are equipped with automatic doors, a GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, on-board hotspot Wi-Fi.
