Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the company that manages the ticket booking of Indian Railways, has launched a new scheme on Thursday for issuing Railway Reservation Ticket from 9147 post offices in Uttar Pradesh.

Under this scheme, rail passengers can now get their e-ticket from the nearest post office.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched this new scheme of IRCTC in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Railways has taken this step keeping in view the convenience and needs of the passengers.

This will help in reducing the lines for booking tickets at railway stations.

Along with this, people living in remote villages and remote locations will also have the facility to make reservations.

People will be able to easily get their tickets from the post office near them.

Apart from this, the Railway Minister also gifted a new train - Gomtinagar-Kamakhya Express from Lucknow's Gomti Nagar station.

With the operation of this train, the people of Lucknow, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Chapra will have darshan of Mother Kamakhya Devi and an alternative travel facility will be available to the states of Northeast India.
