As the Indian monsoon gathered steam, heavy showers in parts of Madhya Pradesh forced the Indian Railways to cancel, reschedule or divert about 21 trains. Major disruption was witnessed on the Katni-Bina railway line after heavy rainfall led the Salaiya railway station flooded. Trains scheduled to cross the station were halted at other stations to remove soil subsidence on the track.

How to get a refund for cancelled trains

The Indian Railways will make a full refund of the fare to the passengers affected in case of cancelled trains for any reason. In order to get a refund, the passengers are required to turn in the ticket within three days of the train's scheduled departure.
Passengers having online tickets will get full refunds in the source account while those having counter tickets will have to visit the reservation centre to claim the refund.
