Festival Season Special Trains: In a relief to the railway passengers, the Ministry of Railways has decided to run 668 trips of 110 special trains to ensure the convenience of the passengers. The trains have been planned to connect the major destinations across the country on railway sectors.

Recently, the Ministry of Railways has tweeted about the trips of the special trains from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Indian Railways is running nearly 668 festival special services to ensure smooth and comfortable travel to the passengers, during the festive season. Special Trains have been planned to connect major destinations across the country on railway sectors."

 

As per the release from the Ministry of Railways, for the convenience of rail travelers and to clear extra rush of passengers during this festive season, Indian Railways is running 668 trips of 110 special trains from Durga Puja till Chhatha Puja this year. Also, augmentation of coaches in regular trains is being done to ensure the berth availability during this festive rush.

Now, the number of trips for the different railway sectors are as follows:

NR - 26 trains and 312 trips

NCR - 4 trains and 26 trips

NER - 4 trains and 24 trips

NWR - 4 trains and 4 trips

ER - 6 trains and 44 trips

ECR - 6 trains and 12 trips

ECoR - 8 trains and 24 trips

SR - 6 trains and 12 trips

SER - 8 trains and 46 trips

SWR - 2 trains and 10 trips

CR - 6 trains and 26 trips

WR - 18 trains and 102 trips'

WCR - 12 trains and 26 trips

The passengers must note that crowd controlling measures by forming queue at the terminus stations with the supervision of RPF staff for orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured. Furthermore, measures have been taken for frequent and timely announcement of arrival/departure of trains with platform numbers.

A watch on any malpractices – like cornering of seats, over charging and touting activity etc., by the Security and Vigilance Department staff is done and strictly monitored. Instructions, for maintaining cleanliness at waiting halls, retiring rooms, passenger amenity area in particular, and at stations in general, are given by Zonal Headquarters.
