Indian Railways has informed that from September 1, 2021, several festive special trains will be operated and its bookings can be made via Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

Anurag Shah, Special Correspondent at Zee Business informed about the same and said that recently IRCTC has announced that its private operated train Tejas Express is getting good response after the resumption of its services.

He further informed that as per the sources, Indian Railways is planning to run more than 450 festive special trains this festive season. Anurag said that this step will directly benefit IRCTC as in the current situation out of the total railway tickets booked around 70 percent of it is booked via the platform of IRCTC.

 

Compared to earlier festive seasons, this time more festive special trains will run as because of the Covid-19 restrictions, waiting tickets which were issued earlier are not allowed. Hence people with the confirm tickets only can travel, Anurag informed.

This is one of the major reasons behind running more number of special trains, he added. Anurag further said that premium tickets are also there and it has also grabbed the attention of railway passengers.

He concluded by saying that these are the few triggers for IRCTC.  The special trains which are currently being run its validation has also been increased and the tickets for all these trains can be booked online and it will benefit IRCTC, he added.
