Delhi-Meerut RRTS: A trial of Delhi to Meerut Rapid Rail (DMRR) was conducted recently and the train was said to be touching a speed of 160 kmph. Delhi- Meerut Rapid Rail is India's first rapid urban train network and will partially open in March 2023 over a 17 km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor, between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot.

A video of the trial run being conducted by the officials was shared on YouTube by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), where the train is said to be moving at a speed of 160 kmph.

The Delhi-Meerut RRTS will have 22 stations connecting Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut. Here are the names of all the stations:

Delhi-Meerut RRTS: Start date

The Priority Corridor (Sahibabad-Duhai) and the entire Delhi-Meerut line is likely to be completed by March 2023 and 2025, respectively.

On the Duhai stretch, the RRTS trains have recently begun pre-trial runs, and the stations are still being constructed.

While the entire line may run until 2025, the priority corridor is anticipated to begin in mid-2023.
