Credit goes to gau mata for my Padma Shri: Bhajan singer Munna master

Ahead of the Republic Day, the government has announced the list of 21 Padma Shri awardees for this year. One of the awardees includes a popular Muslim bhajan singer Munna Master. He belongs from a Muslim family of Bagaru in Rajasthan's Jaipur. He is carrying forward the family tradition of singing Ram-Krishna bhajans. While speaking to ANI, Munna Master said, "I haven't even thought that I will receive such kind of award. One should be faithful towards almighty because there is some power which is controlling all of us." "I would like to give credit to 'gau mata' (cow) for my award," he added. Munna Master has penned various Ram-Krishna bhajans and his book 'Shri Shyam Surabhi Vandana' is quite popular. In the Padma Shri awardee list, he is referred as the epitome of India's syncretism ethos who offers namaz, sings bhajans, knows Sanskrit and takes care of cows.
