There is good news for common people. Retail inflation has come down to 7.04% in the month of May. At the same time, it had reached a record 7.79% in April. This was its highest level in 8 years. At the same time, the food inflation rate was 7.97 percent in May, compared to 8.38% in April. However, it is still running above the target of RBI. RBI's inflation target is 2 to 6%.
