Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Charges: Aadhaar is a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to the resident of India for free of cost. At present, Aadhaar is one of the most important documents for one's proof of identity and it is the one-stop identification of an individual. So, one must be aware of the Aadhaar Enrolment charges or else one can be cheated. One must call the number 1947 or e-mail at help@uidai.gov.in in case he or she is over-charged.

One must note that in order to enroll for Aadhaar for an individual or his or her family member, one will be required to visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Center. In case one's Demographic details (name, address, date of birth, gender, mobile number, e-mail) are not up to date in the Aadhaar, one can get the same updated by visiting an Aadhaar Enrolment Center. The children of the Aadhaar holders (who have turned 15) or others to update Biometrics' details - finger prints, iris and photograph are required to visit an Enrolment center too. 

The Aadhaar tweet has clearly stated that the charges for new Aadhaar enrolment between 5 and 15 years is free. Also, the charges for updating demographics and biometrics for Aadhaar are Rs 50 and Rs 100, respectively. It must also be noted that the charge for updating biometrics is Rs 100 with or without the demographic update. 

One can locate the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center simply by logging in to the official UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in. One can locate the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center by entering the state, PIN or from the search box.
