UIDAI ALERT! Aadhaar users can update Date of Birth (DoB) online on this portal - Here is how | EXPLAINED
Recently, the Aadhaar has issued an important alert from its official Twitter handle. An Aadhaar user will be able to update ones date of birth by means of the Aadhaar self-service update portal.
Aadhaar Date of Birth Correction Online: At present, Aadhaar is one of the most important documents for one's identity. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues a verifiable 12-digit number to every Indian resident. Recently, the Aadhaar has issued an important alert from its official Twitter handle. An Aadhaar user will be able to update one's date of birth by means of the Aadhaar self-service update portal. Now, certain points must be remembered with respect to updating one's date of birth from the online portal. The Aadhaar user must remember in this respect that only declared or verified date of birth can be updated online. One can check the list of valid documents by logging in to the official UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in.
In order to avail this online service, one has to use the registered mobile number. One will receive OTP for Aadhaar authentication in the registered mobile number. Also, Rs 50 will be charged for each update request through the online portal.
One must note that one will be able to update Name, Date of Birth, Gender and Address through the Aadhaar self-service update portal. For submitting the supporting documents, one will be required to upload original coloured scanned copies of POA document as per the valid document list.
There can be a question among the Aadhaar users that how many times, one will be able to update the Aadhaar data. The list is as follows:
Name: Twice in Life Time
Gender: Once in Life Time
Date of Birth : Once in life time subject to condition that present status of the D0B is declared/approximate. (Change in Date of Birth can be updated only for unverified DoB.
