Masked Aadhaar Use: Aadhaar is a verifiable 12-digit identification number issued by UIDAI to the resident of India for free of cost. At present, Aadhaar is one of the most important documents for proving one's identity. Recently, the Aadhaar has tweeted from its official Twitter handle, that one can download Masked Aadhaar or Regular Aadhaar online form from eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. The tweet said, "You can download your Masked Aadhaar or Regular Aadhaar online from: eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. You can use either: Aadhaar number, Your EID (enrolment ID), or Your Virtual ID (VID) to download your Aadhaar pdf."

 

Now, one must be acquainted with the concept of Masked Aadhaar. It must be noted that the Mask Aadhaar option allows one to mask one's Aadhaar number in your downloaded e-Aadhaar. Masked Aadhaar number implies replacing of first eight digits of Aadhaar number with some characters like “xxxx-xxxx” while only last 4 digits of the Aadhaar Number are visible.

Now, in order to download the e-Aadhaar, one has to follow some simple steps. One can choose to download Aadhaar option using one's enrolment ID, VID or Aadhaar number. One can also select whether one wants the Aadhaar number to be visible or masked on the downloaded Aadhaar. After that one has to click on the request OTP. After receiving the OTP in the registered mobile number, one has to enter the OTP.

One must also note that one will also get the virtual ID on SMS which can be used in place of Aadhaar. It has to be remembered that the password to open e-Aadhaar is the first four letters of the name of the user and his or her year of birth.
