The Mill rolled highest-ever 82,390 tonnes of slab last month. The Mill also produced 74,041 tonnes of plates by utilising around 97.4 per cent capacity. This is an increase of 5.22 per cent over the previous best monthly figure achieved in July this yeat which was at 70,367 tonnes.

The despatch of 75,183 tonnes of plates from the New Plate Mill matched the production and was the highest-ever.

The last best monthly despatch of 60,963 tonnes was registered in July 2017, RSP said in a statement.

It may be recalled that the Mill had bounced back as recently as July to notch up its best-ever monthly show.

The July despatch included export of 13,223 tonnes of CE marked plates to the highly competitive European market where RSP has created a niche for itself, it said.

RSP's CEO Ashwini Kumar visited the New Plate Mill today and congratulated the team on its achievement. The CEO also exhorted them to maintain high production levels in the coming months.

It may be mentioned the New Plate Mill achieved highest ever slab rolling for any single day on August 30, it said adding, the Mill rolled slabs weighing 3,680 tonnes on the said day which is the highest-ever for any single day. The earlier best was of 3,630 tonnes recorded on August 18, 2017.
