Copper futures up on spot demand, global cues
Copper prices moved up by 0.35 per cent to Rs 432.50 per kg in futures trade today on pick-up in demand coupled with a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in the current month was up by Rs 1.50, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 432.50 per kg in a business volume of 1,955 lots.
The metal for delivery in November too gained Rs 1.50, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 438.10 per kg in a business turnover of 465 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in copper futures to a firming trend in select base metals overseas and rising demand from consuming industries at domestic spot markets.
