Buying petrol? Price in Mumbai soars to Rs 89.97; check rate in your city
In a big concern for vehicle owners, petrol price shot up to Rs 89.97 a litre in Mumbai on Sunday, which is just 3 paise short of the shocking Rs 90 mark. Petrol price in Mumbai went up 17 paise on Sunday, up from Rs 89.80 per litre on Saturday
Petrol price rocketted in Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. The rate was Rs 82.61, Rs 84.44 and Rs 85.87 per litre, respectively.
Diesel price also soared after remaining unchanged for 4 successive days, data on the Indian Oil Corporation`s website showed.
Transport fuel prices are the lowest in Delhi owing to the lower taxes imposed by the state government.
The rise in petrol and diesel prices has been in sync with the jump in crude oil prices, which is currently ruling at $78.80 per barrel.
Significantly, petrol, diesel prices in all top metros are at record levels. On Sunday, Kolkata again reached its all-time high price of diesel at Rs 75.82 that it had recorded on September 11.
