Karnataka Assembly election 2018 BJP manifesto highlights: As Karnataka election nears, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto and made a huge number of promises to entice the public. The BJP manifesto was unveiled by Karnataka BJP president and its chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa. The Karnataka polls for 223 seats of the 224-member Assembly will be held on 2 May 2018. Counting of votes will be taken up on May 15, 2018. Here are the top 10 promises:

1. Rs 1.5 lakh crore will be spent on irrigation projects and farm loans of up to Rs 1 lakh will be waived.

2. Rs 5,000 crore 'Raitha Bandhu Market Intervention Fund' would be launched to cushion farmers against the effects of price fluctuations.

3. Rs 25,000 and 3 gm of gold will be provided to brides of families living Below Poverty Line (BPL) at the time of marriage under the 'Vivaha Mangala' scheme.

4. Sanitary napkins for BPL women would be provided at Re 1 under the 'Stree Suvidha' Scheme.

5. 300 'Mukhya Mantri Annapoorna Canteens' would be opened to provide meals at affordable rates.

6. There will be a 24x7 anti-corruption helpline directly under the chief minister's office to enable people to report instances of corruption.

7. A Karnataka Whistleblower Act to protect those exposing corruption would be enacted.

8. The "Gau Seva Ayog", that was scrapped by the Congress government, will be revived. The BJP government, if voted to power, would launch 'Gobar-dhana Yojane' to help farmers monetise cow dung.

9. 'Mukhya Mantri Laptop Yojane' would be launched under which every student enrolling in a college will be given a laptop free of cost.
