Kumar said that the important issue of today's meeting is how much dividend should be given to the government for the last financial year ended March 31, 2022.

According to the opinion of experts and sources, this dividend seems to be in between the range of Rs 55,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore. In this range, the government can get dividends from the RBI, Kumar said.

He further said that a positive thing has also happened in the midst of all this - the rupee has weakened.

After the depreciation of the rupee, the RBI has sold the dollar and has made a lot of profit in recent months. Hence, it will also be included in the dividend estimate. And so the government's estimate of dividends may be slightly higher than before.

For this last financial year, RBI expected the total dividend to be Rs 74,000 crore which would be collected from RBI, financial institutions, and governments.
