Uttar Pradesh multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms and stadiums to Reopen: In a relief to the people, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to reopen multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms and stadiums from today, July 5, 2021.

According to a report by news agency ANI, the decision was taken in the review meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday with Team-9. ANI also tweeted about this decision from its official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "Multiplex cinema halls, gyms and sports stadiums to re-open in Uttar Pradesh from July 5."

 

As per ANI, the official statement from the state government said, "With the policy of aggressive tracing, testing, rapid treatment and rapid vaccination, the COVID infection in Uttar Pradesh is under control. Multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms and sports complex/ stadiums have been allowed to operate in compliance with COVID protocol. the business of cinema hall operators have been affected due to COVID. Relief should be provided considering their needs/problems."

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi, in a statement, said that these places have been allowed to remain open from Monday to Friday as per a PTI report. He further added that these relaxations are not for containment zones in the state, adding that swimming pools will also remain closed till further orders.

The PTI report also stated that the official added that at the entrance points of cinema halls, multiplex cinema halls, gyms and sports stadia, provisions of pulse oxymeters, thermometers and sanitisers have to be made and COVID-19 helpdesks be established. In addition to that, the use of masks and social distancing norms are also to be adhered to.

According to the ANI report on July 5, 2021, the state of Uttar Pradesh has recorded 128 new COVID-19 cases and 305 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
