The ERS workers have complained that they have been working tirelessly for the last 17-18 years for the welfare of the hospital patients. However, during this entire span, they have not enjoyed any raise in their pay scales. Nevertheless, they believe that the health department will soon look into the matter and settle the issue as early as possible.

The ERS workers have also informed that after the SI and PF are taken out of their gross salary, they receive an amount of Rs 7,349 for working 26 days a month. Due to the rising prices of the essential commodities, it is impossible for them to manage with this meagre amount.

The workers have further complained that though there has been raise in the pay scales of other departments, they have not enjoyed any hike in their pay.

On December 27, they have also sent an application to the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee making her aware of the issue.

The workers have also informed that they also do not want to disrupt their work and cause any inconveniences to the patients. However, they demand an urgent solution to this problem.
