Lucknow: Thunderstorms accompanied by lighting and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the meteorological (MeT) department here said on Sunday.

The minimum temperature in state capital Lucknow on Sunday settled at 16.6 degrees Celsius, almost 5.5 degrees Celsius above the normal, it said.

The maximum in Lucknow was 27.6 degrees Celsius, the MeT said, adding that the weather is most likely to remain dry over western Uttar Pradesh.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lighting and gusty winds of up to 30 to 40 kmph are very likely at isolated places over eastern Uttar Pradesh, it said.

Sunny and warm Sunday in Delhi
New Delhi: It was a sunny and warm day in Delhi on Sunday with the maximum temperature recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, the meteorological department said.

The minimum temperature was 12.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal.

The humidity levels oscillated between 50-98 per cent, the department said, as it predicted mainly clear skies with mist or shallow fog early on Monday morning.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively, it added.
