Weather Alert, Weather Today, Weather Forecast, Weather This Week, Weather Report: The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya over the weekend, and in Odisha on Monday, April 24. The weatherman has also forecast duststorm in parts of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and predicted searing heat and humid conditions in Kerala. However, some respite is expected in areas reeling under severe heatwave. Here is the weather forecast in detail:

Weather alert: Rain and thunderstorm over next four days

Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Northeast are very likely to receive moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over some parts in the next four days. 

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, are very likely to see heavy rainfall at isolated places and parts of Odisha may receive heavy rain on Monday, April 24.

Weather Report: Hailstorm warning

The weather department has issued an alert of hailstorms that are likely over isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal region and Sikkim, and in areas in Odisha for the next three days. It also issued a hailstorm alert for areas in Bihar on Monday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 25, and over Vidarbha on Monday, April 24 as well.

Weather Forecast: Relief from heatwave

The weatherman had some good news for regions in the north and eastern part of the country like Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha that were reeling under intense heat spells over the last few days. The weather bulletin announced that the existing heatwave will cool off across the country for the next five days.

 

Weather Alert: Heavy rains in Tamil Nadu 

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of IMD has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in 15 districts in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. In a statement, the RMC said, "Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Theni, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Dharmapuri, Salem, Kallakurichi, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruppatur and Tiruvannamalai districts are likely to receive heavy rains on April 23."

Puducherry and Karaikkal are also expected to receive light to moderate rains with thunderstorms on Monday, April 24 and Tuesday, April 25.

However, the weathermen also predicted that Chennai and its suburbs will experience searing heat as the mercury is set to rise over 40 to 41 degrees Celsius.

Kerala Weather Alert

In its weather bulletin, the IMD issued a forecast of high temperature accompanied by humidity in Kerala over the weekend, making the weather very hot and uncomfortable in the state. Kerala is the first to witness the advant of monsoon in the country, and high temperatures are favourable for the arrival of rains.

Duststorm warning for parts of Rajasthan, UP and Haryana

The weather department has issued a warning of duststorm in places in southern Haryana, northeast Rajasthan and in western Uttar Pradesh region on Sunday, April 23.
