WAR box office collection day 1: Expect the unexpected, wrote Film trade analyst, critic and influencer Sumit Kadel in his WAR movie review. And, the same could be said for film's box office collection. The Hirithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer hit the big screens on Wednesday morning and it is all set for a historic opening day collection, if early release day trends are any indication. War film witnessed a jaw-dropping 68 per cent to 72 per cent occupancy in early morning shows across India which is even more than what Aamir Khan movie Thugs of Hindostan achieved on day 1. This means that WAR could easily have the biggest opening of 2019, if not ever.

Not just this, the film had witnessed unprecedented craze during the advance booking which itself hints at a massive opening. The film has also released to positive reviews and word of mouth should help it do well over the weekend. Kadel said that War is an epic action spectacle that rides on watertight script. "#WAR - EPIC action spectacle, rides on watertight script, worldclass action, fast paced & thrilling screenplay. @ihrithik performance is iconic, @itigershroff delivers career best ACT . Siddhart vision & direction is superlative. BHAYANKAR BLOCKBUSTER," he said. Kadel added that WAR is one of the finest action thrillers to emerge from India.

"Twist and turns in #WAR will blow audience mind. Expect the unexpected.. one of the finest action thriller came out of Indian cinema. Records would be shattered left right and center. THE PERFECT WAR BEGINS. #WARReview," he said.

War film comes at an important time for Indian cinema where several big budget films are line up for release. In October itself, as many as three major films will release and these WAR, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and HouseFull 4. The year has been very good for Indian cinema, especially Bollywood and filmmakers would be hoping for it to end on a positive note.
