The identity proof is mandatory for a lot of services. However, UIDAI has a feature that can come to your rescue. The Aadhaar card can be downloaded from the official UIDAI website. While other government documents like voter ID card, passport and PAN card are harder to generate again, you can easily download Aadhaar card by Aadhaar number.

While in case you want to download it with the Enrolment number but do not have it, you need to visit the nearby Aadhaar centre. However, if you do have your Aadhaar number, you are good to go. Remember in order to download your Aadhaar card online through this process, your mobile number needs to be registered with Aadhaar at the time of enrolment. 

Here is the step by step guide to download your Aadhaar from UIDAI website:

Step 1: The first step is to visit the official UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in/).

Step 2: Now, click on the link on the homepage i.e ‘Download Aadhaar’ and you will be directed to a new page.

Step 3: New page will allow you to enter your Aadhaar number or your enrolment ID or virtual ID. After that select the option that says, ‘I have Aadhaar number’.

Step 4: After that enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and select the masked Aadhaar option, in case you do not want the full digits of your Aadhaar number displayed.

Step 5: Now to proceed further, there is a captcha verification needs to be done, which will open a new page with an option to receive an OPT by clicking on ‘Send OTP’.

Step 6: Now enter the OTP received on your mobile number in the space and accept the terms and conditions before submitting it.

Step 7: After that to open the PDF version of your Aadhaar, you will need a password. Once your Aadhaar is downloaded, check carefully all the credentials and in case of inaccurate or missing info, you have to visit the nearest Aadhaar centre with your documents for correction.

In case you do not have your Aadhaar number, you can also download Aadhaar card with your name or mobile number or with Enrolment Number by clicking on the option of ‘Retrieve lost UID (Aadhaar number) or EID (enrolment number)’ and take a printout of the same afterwards.
