Virgin Atlantic has launched 'Freedom Sale' to celebrate India's 72nd Independence Day. The sale has started on 8th August and will end on 10th August.

"Customers planning a trip to the UK or US can enjoy a discount of 30% on one way and return flights in Economy and Upper Class. Customers already travelling with Virgin Atlantic this Independence Day are also in for a sweet treat. The airline will be offering all its passengers tricolor bakes. The ground staff will also welcome the passengers in traditional dresses and tricolor stoles marking the celebrations," said the airline in a statement.

The airline said that it will give surprises to people travelling on 15th August or to those travelling on their birthdays.

“We are extremely delighted to offer our customers a special discounted air fare to help plan their next trip soon. Customers travelling on 15th August and celebrating a birthday are also in for a special surprise – if there’s a seat available we’ll upgrade them to the next cabin free of charge,” said David Hodges, Country Manager at Virgin Atlantic.

However, if you have booked tickets and want any change in date, you will have to pay up to Rs 7,300.

"Once a booking has been confirmed any date changes will be charged at Rs 5,000 for Economy and Rs 7,300 for Upper Class per change. Cancellation/Refunds are charged Rs 4,000 for Economy and Rs 7,000 for Upper Class," said the airline.
