Uri vs Simmba box-office collection: Despite Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba doing exceptionally well at the box office, Uri: The Surgical Strike has emerged as the first hit of 2019. The movie earned Rs 35.73 crore on its opening weekend, exceeding all predictions. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina in supporting roles. The film extended its run on Monday as well and minted Rs 10.51 crore.

In another tweet, Adarsh also said, "#UriTheSurgicalStrikeay-wise growth... Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 51.59% Sun [vis-à-vis Sat]: 21.48% Taking into account the terrific trending, #Uri is expected to maintain a super-strong grip on weekdays. India biz. #HowsTheJosh."

Meanwhile, Simmba has entered into top ten highest-earning Bollywood movies of all time with a collection of Rs 225 crore at the domestic box office and over Rs 86 crore from the overseas market. Starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, Rohit Shetty's Simmba had made Rs 50 crore in 3 days, Rs 100 crore in 5 days and Rs 200 crore in just 12 days of release.

After the 3rd weekend, Taran Adarsh tweeted "#Simmba crosses $ 12 million from international markets, after Weekend 3... Total till 13 Jan 2019: $ 12.230 million [₹ 86.61 cr]... Has emerged Rohit Shetty’s highest grosser in #Australia [A$ 1,439,876; still going strong]... #Overseas."

Simmba is Rohit Shetty's eighth consecutive film that crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office. The film is also the biggest scoring Bollywood movie of Rohit Shetty's Rohit Shetty Picturez and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
