Movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film is already a super-hit and is on course to be a blockbuster. "#UriTheSurgicalStrike is sensational... Crosses ₹ 60 cr... En route ₹ 100 cr Club... Is a SUPER-HIT. On course to be a BLOCKBUSTER... Fri 8.20 cr, Sat 12.43 cr, Sun 15.10 cr, Mon 10.51 cr, Tue 9.57 cr, Wed 7.73 cr. Total: ₹ 63.54 cr. India biz. #Uri #HowsTheJosh," Adarsh tweeted on Thursday afternoon.

With this, Uri also becomes the fourth Hindi hit in less than a month after Kedarnath, KGF and Simmba.

"#Kedarnath, #KGF [Hindi], #Simmba and now #UriTheSurgicalStrike... Four successes in one month [7 Dec 2018 to 11 Jan 2019]... Moral of the story: The audience is willing to dig into pockets if the films are worth it... Content talks!" Adarsh said, in another tweet.

Uri is based on the true story of surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army on Pakistan in 2016. Interestingly, it had released on the same date as The Accidental Prime Minister - a biopic of former prime minister Manmohan Singh. However, the latter has failed to impress the audience.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh starrrer Simmba continues to attract viewers even in its third week. The film had entered Rs 200 crore club last week and is now inching towards the Rs 250 crore mark. On Wednesday, Simmba earned Rs 1.41 crore, taking its overall collection to Rs 231.31 crore.
