UPSC Recruitment 2018: The Union Public Service Commission has invited applications for the posts of Administrative Officer in Geological Survey of India, through a recruitment notification. The Commission will hold a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) to short-list candidates for the said posts on September 23, 2018 (Sunday) from 2 PM to 4 PM at their respective centers. The applicants must reach their Exam Centre by 12.30 PM.
 
According to the notification, only those candidates will be asked to submit their documents in support of their claim for the posts who would qualify the CBRT. Their documents will be scrutinized and those who met all the eligibility conditions will be called for interview.
 
Details of the Examination: The UPSC test will be of two hours duration, and all questions will carry equal marks. The test will comprise objective type questions with multiple choices of answer. The test will carry a maximum of 300 marks.
 
The questions in Part A of the syllabus will be set in English only and the questions in Part B of the syllabus will be set both in English and Hindi. There will be negative marks for wrong answers and every wrong answer will carry deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.
 
Syllabus: The Part A will comprise General English to test the candidates’ understanding of English Language and workmanlike use of words. 
 
The Part B will have questions related to General Ability to test the General awareness of the candidates in the areas including Indian Union and International Affairs along with Current Affairs; Personnel Management and Industrial Relations; General Mental Ability; General Science; Computer Awareness & Basic knowledge of office automation software such as WORD/EXCEL; and Office Management and Procedure.

Notably, the CBRT and the Interview will carry a 75:25 weightage for the candidates shortlisted out of the computer based recruitment test and those who qualify in the interview.
