UPSC exam 2018:  Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released official notification inviting applications for the post of Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Service Examination. This was conveyed via UPSC Notification 2018 . The eligible candidates can apply for the post on or before April 16, 2018. The official notification officially released on 21 March 2018. The UPSC exam forms can be filled through the official portal of UPSC,  upsc.gov.in. 
According to the UPSC notification 2018, the entrance examination for UPSC IES, ISS examination will be conducted on June 29, 2018. This examination is conducted to fill up officer in statistics and economics in government service.

Selection Procedure of UPSC exam 2018 IES, ISS Examination
Selection procedure for the two exams, Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS), consists of two stages. The two stages include Written Examination and Interview/ Personality Test. 
Written Exam: Written exam will be conducted for 1000 marks.
Interview: The candidate will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased observers who will have before them a record of his/her career.

Pattern of Papers 
The pattern for UPSC exam 2018 Indian Economic Service:
1. General English- 100 marks- 3 hrs.
2. General Studies- 100 marks- 3 hrs.
3. General Economics-I- 200 marks- 3 hrs.
4. General Economics-II- 200 marks- 3 hrs.
5. General Economics-III- 200 marks- 3 hrs.
6. Indian Economics- 200 marks- 3 hrs.
The pattern for UPSC exam 2018 Indian Statistical Service:
1. General English-100 marks- 3 hrs.
2. General Studies- 100 marks- 3 hrs.
3. Statistics-I (Objective)- 200 marks- 2 hrs.
4. Statistics-II (Objective)- 200 marks- 2 hrs.
5. Statistics-III (Descriptive)-200 marks- 3 hrs.
6. Statistics-IV (Descriptive)- 200 marks- 3 hrs.
Educational Qualification:
IES Exam: Candidates having Post Graduate degree in Applied Economics/ Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics or its equivalent qualification obtained from a recognized university are eligible.
For ISS Exam: In order to fulfil educational requirements for ISS entrance exam, candidates need to have either Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Statistics/Statistics/Applied Statistics or Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics/Applied Statistics.
Note: The released UPSC notification 2018 states that “candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination."
