UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2020 date: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the date and other details for the Engineering Services Exam 2020 on its official website upsc.gov.in. The UPSC ESE 2020 examination will be conducted in January. In a notification released on Wednesday afternoon, UPSC said that the preliminary exam will be held on January 5. The candidates can apply for the same before October 15.

The commission is also providing a withdrawal facility to the candidates. This means that in case you do not wish to appear for the exam, you can withdraw the form between October 22 and October 28 (till 6.00 PM). This year, the commission has announced a total of 495 vacancies in various group A and group B services in civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics & telecommunications discipline.

UPSC ESE 2020: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have been asked to provide the details of registered application with registration-ID which was completed and submitted finally. They need to keep in mind that there is no provision for withdrawing of incomplete applications. Those who clear the  preliminary exam, will have to appear for the main exam and personality test to be selected for the Engineering Services.

UPSC ESE 2020: Exam format

The UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2020 will have two objective type (multiple choices) questions papers. Both these papers will carry maximum of 500 marks. The main exam, however, will come with two conventional papers in Engineering Discipline specific with duration of three hours and maximum marks of 600. Lastly, the personality test will be of 200 marks.
