UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2019: Online registration for UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2019 is closing today, therefore, interested candidates should know that the earlier last date March 18, was extended for those who failed to fill up their online application at the UPSC official website- upsconline.nic.in for Civil Services (IAS) and IFoS Preliminary Examination. Notably, all such candidates who earlier completed Part-1 of UPSC Online application process should complete Part-II and submit their application immediately to avoid last minute rush. According to the UPSC notification, as many as 986 posts will be filled this year out of which 896 posts will be filled through Civil Services Exam 2019 and the rest 90 positions through Indian Forest Service Exam 2019. The notification for UPSC Civil Services (IAS) & IFoS Prelims 2019 was issued in February 2019, while the registration process started from February 19, 2019.

Since the central government this year announced 10% quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in all central government jobs, those who are falling under this category are required to get their EWS Certificate submit by August 1, 2019 as per the notification published on the official website. The EWS certificate along with other documents with the Detail Applicaton Form (DAF) for the Main Exams 2019 must be submitted by such candidates. Notably, the UPSC will hold the prelims on June 2, 2019 at various examination centres. .

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2019

Educational Qualification: Interested candidate should have a graduation degree from a recognized University.

Age Limit: Candidates should be in the age group of 21 to 32 years, while age relaxation for reserved category candidates would be applicable as per the government norms. 

Application fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 100/- either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card. Reserved category candidates are exempted from the payment of Fee.

Exam Pattern: The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages:
1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination. 
2. Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above, followed by an Interview.

Those candidates who will qualify the preliminary exams will be able to appear in the main exams which will take place later this year. Those who will qualify the mains will appear for interview followed by document verification. The UPSC Main Exam 2019 is expected to be held on September 20, 2019 while UPSC IFS Mains Exam 2019 will be held on December 1, 2019.
