New terms

UIDAI has set certain conditions for updating the date of birth in Aadhaar. If there is a difference of less than three years in case of change in birth date, then you can get it corrected by going to any nearest Aadhaar Facilitation Center with the relevant documents. However, if there is a gap of more than three years, then you need to take documents to the Regional Aadhaar Center. UIDAI has also said that the gender-changing facility on Aadhaar will be available only once.

Necessary documents

1. For change in DOB:

Birth certificate, PAN card, passport, certified date of birth from Group-A gazetted officer on letterhead, photo, identity card certificate, Central Government Health Service Scheme photo card or Ex-Serviceman photo ID letterhead, class 10th or 12th certificate, photo ID, identity card etc.

In case of wrong name printed on Aadhaar

If your name in Aadhaar is misprinted then you must know about these new guidelines. According to the new decision of UIDAI, now there will be only two opportunities to update the name on Aadhaar. Even after this, if the name remains wrong, then he will have to apply for a new card after being considered invalid.

Documents required for name update?

Important documents like photo, PAN card, passport, voter ID, driving license, government ID, educational certificate, caste certificate, pension card will be required to update name in Aadhaar. With these documents, the name can be changed by visiting the Aadhaar center.

Aadhaar has become mandatory for many tasks and it has been asked by the government to link Aadhaar to all other documents and accounts at the earliest.
