Five ministers in Bihar government, including two Deputy Chief Ministers have been tested positive with COVID-19, as per an ANI report.

The Deputy Chief Ministers Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad have been tested positive for COVID-19. The ANI report also informed that Sunil Kumar, Excise Minister; Vijay Kumar, Education and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Ashok Choudhury, Education Minister have also been reported to be infected with coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the Bihar government decided to impose a fresh curb by implementing a night curfew across the state from 10 PM to 6 AM from January 6, 2022 to January 21, 2022.

As per the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), over the last 24 hours, the country has recorded 58,097 new coronavirus cases. There are 2223 active cases in Bihar as per the Union Health Ministry's data.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued new guidelines for home isolation of mild/asymptomatic COVID-19 patients. The patients under home isolation will stand discharged & end isolation after at least 7 days have passed from testing positive and no fever for 3 successive days.

With the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country and the Omicron variant cases, there are discussions regarding precautionary booster doses. Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, NITI Aayog recently informed that precautionary COVID-19 vaccine dose will be the same vaccine as has been given previously.

On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19, adding that he has "mild symptoms" and was isolating at home.

"I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested," Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
