A group of students of SRM Institute of Science and Technology here have launched an initiative to provide low cost sanitary napkins for economically poor girls by raising funds. The students using the crowd-funding route are raising funds for the initiative through "www.Fueladream.Com", a release from the portal said today.
The initiative was aimed at creating awareness on menstrual hygiene and the usage of sanitary napkins by generating Rs 7.5 lakh a year, it said. "It is a simple and high impact initiative and the need of the hour.
Supplying pads for a year will definitely ensure awareness and change in behaviour for the girls and women", FuelADream, Founder, Ranganath Thota said. The students proposed to procure low cost, high quality napkins from the suppliers.
