The last date to submit the form is April 19 2019. Any other mode of applying apart from online will be rejected. 

Vacancies:

The total number of vacancies available is 969 out of which post wise vacancies are as follows:

i) Sub-Inspector of Police (TK) : 660 (460 men, 198 women/transgenders)

ii) Sub-Inspector of Police (AR) : 276 (193 men, 83 women/ transgenders)

iii) Sub-Inspector of Police (TSP): 33 men
 

Pay-scale: 

The pay-scale for this position of Sub-Inspector will be between Rs 36900 - Rs 116600.
 

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree obtained from Institution / University recognized by University Grants Commission / Government in 10+2+3/4/5 pattern or 10+3+2 pattern in case of Diploma courses

Quota: 

Candidates can apply for departmental and sports quotas, 20% and 10% each. The departmental quota will be applicable for serving police personnel meeting eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS and TNSPSS Rules.

The sports quota, on the other hand, will be given to sportspersons who have represented National, State or Inter-University in specified 15 Sports / Games.

If required number of applicants are not met, the seats will be offered to general quota and communal reservation.  

20% of vacancies will be set apart for individuals holding Person Studied in Tamil Medium Certificate. 
 

Age Limit: 

The applicant of general category should be of age 28, as on 1.7.2019. The limit relaxation on age for certain categories are:

i) 30 years for BC (Backward Class), BC (M), (Backward Class [Muslim]), MBC (Most Backward Class)/ DNC (De-notified Community). 

ii) 33 years for SC, (Scheduled Castes), SC(A) (Scheduled Castes [Arunthathiyar]), ST, (Scheduled Tribes). 

iii) 35 years for destitute widow

iv) 45 years for Ex-servicemen/Ex-personnel of Central Para-military Forces (Discharged from service within 3 years from the date of notification i.e. must have been discharged on or after 08.03.2016) / Serving persons who are going to retire within one year from the last date of receipt of online application. 

v) 45 years for Departmental candidates appearing for departmental quota examination.
