The Sky is Pink box office collection: The much-awaited film released today and has been greeted by rave reviews. It is a movie whose content has elicited a great response from reviewers, but the reception by the public was not great in morning shows, even as it was expected to improve in the evening shows. In fact, The Sky is Pink collection received a poor response despite having a top star cast including Priyanka Chopra, who returned to Bollywood after a gap of three years. According to reports coming in, the Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar starrer could register an occupancy of near 10 per cent in morning shows on its opening day, across the movies theatres in the country.

In the morning today, film trade analyst and critic Sumit Kadel tweeted, "#TheSkyIsPink  opened with 5-7% occupancy in morning shows across India. Rave reviews pouring in for the film, growth is expected in the evening shows."

Kadel said the poor response to Priyanka Chopra starrer was its name. He tweeted, "One of the main reason for such a low opening for #TheSkyIsPink is the film title itself. Normal audience ko yeh tak nai malum hai thik se yeh picture Hindi hai ya English. Why to keep such title when your film is starring mainstream actors. "

Apart from that, another major hurdle in the path of success for the Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar movie is Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War. The latter continues to dominate the box office, as the action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, seems to have got the attention of young audience in the multiplexes.

The Sky is Pink has received positive reviews from movie critics and the movie boasts of brilliant performances from Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf, but that charm seems to have failed to attract movie watcher on its opening day.

Film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi tweeted, "Here’s wishing @RonnieScrewvala #ShonaliBose @FarOutAkhtar & @priyankachopra luck for the release of #TheSkyIsPink! Can’t think of a single person who has had anything negative to say about the film (publicly or privately)! Look forward to watching it!"

The film is stated to be based on the real life story of the couple - Niren and Aditi Chaudhary, who passed through some extraordinary circumstances. Directed by Shonali Bose, the other stars actors of the movie include Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles.
