The Lion King has managed to gain good numbers at the box office by collecting Rs 11.06 crore on its opening day. The film got a boost on Saturday and witnessed 116.07% growth, by adding up Rs 11.56 crore on day 9. It now stands with a total collection of Rs 98.48 crore. By the current trend, it is expected that the film will enter Rs 100 crore club at the Indian box office today.

The Lion King Hindi version features the voice of Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Asrani, Shreyas Talpade and Ashish Vidyarthi. The live-action "The Lion King" continues Disney`s hugely successful streak of retelling classic stories, using computer wizardry to bring to life the characters.

The Lion King is a remake of the 1994 animated Disney classic of the same name and was released in India in four languages -Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English. Having said that the Hindi dubbed version has contributed the maximum chunk in the overall collection of the movie.

The Jungle Book fame director Jon Favreau has re-imagined the world of Disney's classic to bring alive "The Lion King" as a live-action adventure. By staying true to the classic story of Simba and used pioneering filmmaking techniques  Favreau has bought the iconic characters to the big screen in a whole new way.
