Standout Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya surely knows how to stay in the news, even if he is not playing cricket. This year's episode of Kofee with Karan is the finest example of the same and now, the Baroda boy is making headlines again for wearing an insanely expensive watch during his lower back injury surgery. Pandya, who was rested from the ongoing Test series against South Africa, jetted off to England to go under the knife. On Saturday, he confirmed through a social media post that the surgery was successful and added that he was extremely grateful to his well-wishers.

While wishes started to pour in for Pandya, what got everyone's attention was his expensive watch. The hard-hitting all-rounder apparently wore a Patek Philippe Nautilus watch during the surgery which is priced at around Rs 81 lakh and comes with an eight year waitlist. The timepiece manufactured by the legendary Swiss luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe is considered by many as the "holy grail" in the watch industry.

The watch was first spotted by Zomato vice president Rahul Gangoo who tweeted to confirm that it was indeed a Patek Philippe Nautilus watch. "Couldn’t help but notice Hardik wore what looks like a Patek Philippe Nautilus to surgery :-) This watch has an 8 year waitlist to get on the waitlist! #swag," he tweeted.

Pandya further confirmed the same through his reply to Gangoo in which he said that the Zomato executives "know watches for sure."

It is still not clear which model of the watch Pandya was wearing but it seemed like Rose Gold Nautilus (in 18K rose gold case) with a reference number 5980/1R and Caliber CH 28‑520 C. According to the official website, the model 5980 retails at a whopping price tag of $169,995 and upwards. Due to its high demand in the watch community, this particular timepiece can go for Rs 13 crore.

Pandya's injury earlier forced him to miss the Asia Cup. Even though he returned to the field after that, the all-rounder was facing some discomfort during the recently concluded series against West Indies and thereafter, he decided to undergo surgery.
