Benchmarks Domestic indices on Monday, July 8, 2019, plunged more than two per cent. The Sensex and Nifty, both, tumbled for the second session in a row amid heavy sell-off in global equities. But, certain stocks came in news after the market was closed for trading purposes on the day and can play important role in setting the direction in which the indices will move on Tuesday, July 9, 2019. NIIT Technologies: The IT service management company on July 8, 2019, said Hulst BV’s open offer to acquire an additional 26 per cent stake in the company will commence on July 15 and close on July 26, 2019. Earlier in April 2019, funds affiliated with Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) had bought about 30 per cent stake in the mid-sized IT services firm NIIT Technologies from NIIT Ltd and other promoter entities for about Rs2,627 crore. The deal triggered an open offer under which BPEA is making an offer to the public shareholders of NIIT Technologies for purchasing up to 1,62,29,173 additional shares at Rs1,394 apiece.

Voltas: The undisputed market leader in air conditioning and cooling technology in India on July 8, 2019, announced its partnership with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) to manufacture and sell 5-star rated inverter air conditioners. Under the partnership, 50,000 super energy=efficient and environment-friendly ACs from Voltas will be distributed to the Delhi consumers of Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), BSES Rajdhani power (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power (BYPL). EESL will be promoting this scheme at their respective Customer Care counters.

Hero MotoCorp: The two-wheeler giant, Hero MotoCorp, on July 8, 2019, notified that it has increased prices of its two-wheelers by 1 per cent with immediate effect. 

Goa Carbon: The Indian petrochemical company on July 8, 2019, announced that the operations at its Bilaspur Unit located in Sirgitti Industrial Area, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) has resumed. The operations were closed on April 15, 2019, for maintenance purposes. The company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of Calcined Petroleum Coke. 

NHPC: The Hydroelectric power generation company has informed that Unit 1 & 3 of Baira Suil Power Station, Himachal Pradesh, has started electricity generation. The plant for closed to carry out necessary maintenance on October 16, 2018.
