The stock markets today were trading in green making yet another lifetime high. While the BSE Sensex touched levels around 45,418, the NSE Nifty 50 touched levels around 13,350. These are the new lifetime highs for the markets.

The gains were pared later in afternoon with the broader market Index trading at 13,308, up by almost 0.4 per cent or 46 point At, 2:20 pm, while the 30-share Sensex was up by 182 points or 0.4 per cent. 

Out of the 50 stocks in Nifty 50, 28 were trading in the green while the remaining 22 were in the red. Meanwhile on Sensex, 19 stocks were trading in the green and the remaining 11 were trading in the red. 

The momentum and mood of the markets was upbeat with mid cap stocks seeing a lot of action. The Nifty MidCap 50 was trading at 5727.40, gaining almost 0.6 per cent. At 30,124, Bank Nifty was trading up by almost 0.3 per cent around this time.  

Nifty SmallCap 100 was also up by 1.2 per cent and traded at 6780.10. 

Auto stocks, however showed signs of weakness with the Nifty Auto Index trading at 9,268.70 down by almost 0.4 per cent around this time.     

The top gainers on Nifty were UPL, Indusind Bank, Adani Ports, Hindustan Unilever and Sun Pharma while the top losers were Kotak Mahindra Bank, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Nestle India and Maruti Suzuki.  

The top gainers on Sensex were Indusind Bank, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever and SBI. The top losers around this time include Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Steel, Nestle India, HDFC Bank and Maruti Suzuki.

On Friday, key equity indices scaled fresh all-time highs amid positive global cues. The BSE Sensex added 446.90 points, or 1 per cent, to settle at 45,079.55. Nifty 50 rose 124.65 points, or 0.95 per cent, to close at the lifetime high of 13,258.55.
