The stock markets on Monday opened in the red, continuing its downward trend of Friday. While the BSE Sensex was trading at 37,334.43, down by 0.72 per cent or over 272 points in the early morning trade, the NSE Nifty 50 was trading at 11,001.20, also down by 0.65 per cent or over 72 points around this time.

In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 20 stocks were trading in the red in the early morning trade while the remaining were trading in the green. The top gainers on Monday in the early trade were Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Technologies and SBI while the top losers were Indusind bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Power Grid.  

Meanwhile, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzuki, Eicher Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty on Monday in the opening trade. The top losers were UPL, Indusind Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Grasim Industries and Axis Bank. 

  Today, the USDINR futures were trading at 75.1000 around against the USD at 9:46 am on BSE.

On Friday, the Sensex in the negative territory ending at 37,606.89, falling by almost 0.34 per cent while the Nifty 50 closed at 11,073.45, also down by over 0.26 per cent.
