Building up from Monday’s gains the stock market today ended the day in the green. While the BSE Sensex ended the day’s trade at 36,674.52, up by over 187 points or 0.5 per cent from the previous close, the broader market Nifty 50 ended at 10.799.65, up by almost 36 points or 0.3 per cent.

In the 30 share BSE Sensex, 15 stocks were trading in the green at the time of close while the remaining 15 were in the red. The top gainers on Tuesday at the time of closing were Bajaj Finance, Indusind Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys and ICICI Bank. The top losers at the day’s end were Power Grid, ITC, NTPC, Tata Steel and ONGC. 

Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance, Indusind Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Eicher Motors and ICICI Bank were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty at close. The top losers were Adani Ports, Power Grid, Grasim Industries, BPCL and ITC.

Among the major sectoral Nifty indices, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT were up by over 1.7 per cent at the time of close. Meanwhile, Nifty Auto was up by almost 0.4 per cent.   

On Monday, the Sensex ended at 36,487.28, up by almost 1.3 per cent while the Nifty 50 closed at 10,763.65, also up almost by 1.5 per cent. The Indian stock markets traded with a positive sentiment on Monday.

Today, the USDINR futures were trading at around 75.0600 against the USD at 3:40 pm on BSE.

Asian markets looked set to rise on Tuesday as investors weighed growing expectations of an economic rebound in China and a resurgent U.S. services industry, brushing off worries about a spike in U.S. coronavirus cases.

Australian S&P/ASX 200 futures climbed 0.52 per cent, while Japan`s Nikkei 225 futures rose 0.07 per cent, and Hong Kong`s Hang Seng index futures were up 0.68 per cent. E-mini futures for the S&P 500 rose 0.08 per cent following a rally in global stocks on Monday. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.78 per cent, the S&P 500 gained 1.59 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite 2.21 per cent.

Emerging market stocks rose 2.65 per cent while MSCI`s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan closed 2.46 per cent higher on Monday.
