Stock markets on Tuesday ended almost flat after opening in green. While the BSE Sensex ended the day at 30609.30, down by over 63 points or 0.2 per cent, the Nifty 50 ended at 9029.05, down by almost 10 points from the Friday close. The Markets were closed on Monday on account of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

At close, the top gainers on the 30-share BSE Sensex on Tuesday were Titan, Ultratech Cement Company, Indusind Bank, Nestle India and ITC while top losers were Bharti Airtel, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Tech Mahindra. In the 30-share BSE Sensex, 18 were in green at the time of close while the remaining 12 ended in red.

Meanwhile, JSW Steel, Eicher Motors, Titan, Ultratech Cement Company and Indusind Bank were the top gainers on Nifty Fifty on Tuesday. The top losers were Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finserve, TCS, Bajaj Finance and Sun Pharmaceuticals.

 The stock markets today opened at 30,864.27, up by over 191 points or 0.6 per cent the Nifty 50 today opened around 9,099.75, over 60 points or 0.6 per cent up from the Friday close.

Today, the rupee was trading at 75.6550 against the USD at 4 pm.

Among the global stock markets, Asian shares crept ahead on Tuesday following an upbeat session in Europe and further gains in U.S. stock futures as investors looked past Sino-U.S. trade tensions to a re-opening world economy. Japan`s Nikkei led the way with a rise of 1 per cent to its highest since early March when the economic impact of the coronavirus was just becoming clear. MSCI`s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan added 0.1 per cent in early trade, while South Korea rose 0.4 per cent.

While Wall Street had been shut on Monday, E-Mini futures for the S&P 500 were up just over 1 per cent after EUROSTOXX 50 futures added over 2 per cent on Monday.
