Stock Market Today: On account of strong global sentiments on US stimulus hopes, the indian indices opened in the green zone in opening bell today. The BSE Sensex shot up 416 points and hit 40,295 levels while the NSe Nifty soard 119 points and touched 11,858 mark. Bank Nifty index went up 247 points and climbed 23,211 levels.

Speaking on the current market scenario Rohit Sinbgre, Senior Technical Research Analyst at LKP Securities said, "Market has opened above 11,850 and it has broken the hurdle of 11,750. Now, we can expect it to go up to 12,000 levels."

Shares of Wipro, HCL Technologies, TCS, Infosys, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco Industries, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Hero MotoCorp were among the leading gainers in the opening bell today while shares of Future Lifestyle, Future Retail, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, Metropolis Healthcare, Narayana Hrudayalaya and Oil Inhdia Limited or OIL were among the majhor losers in the opening bell trade session.

IT and Tech stocks led the bull run in the opening bell today as the BSE It index shot up to the tune of 4 per cent. It major Tata Consultancy Services or TCS share pr8ice shot up 4.25 per cent, Wipro shares soar 4.59 per cent, Infosys share added 3.30 per cent, Aptech stock price rose 8.54 per cent, Birlasoft stocks went northward 6.16 per cent, HCL Technologies share price scaled up 4.62 per cent while MphasiS jumped 6.88 per cent.

At major Asian indices, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index shot up 0.91 per cent, South Korean Kospi went up 0.22 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 1.12 per cent while Shanghai index lost 0.20 per cent.

At Wall Street yesterday, Dow Jones skyrocketed 1.91 per cent, Nasdaq soard 1.88 per cent, Small Cap 2000 surged 2.19 per cent while S&P 500 went northward 1.74 per cent.
