SSC Constable (GD) examination 2018: The Staff Selection Commission has started inviting online applications from applicants of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination. There are as many as around 55,000 posts up for grabs. Candidates can start applying on the official SSC website: www.ssc.nic.in. The online application process was postponed earlier as the SSC website had become slow because of a heavy load of applications. "...because of a very heavy load of applications, the new website of the Commission had become very slow, for which reason, it was temporarily withdrawn by the Commission. ," SSC said in a notification recently.

SSC GD Constable: Open examination 2018

The SSC will conduct an open examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). 

SSC GD Constable: Application process

Applications will be accepted through online mode only from the candidates from all over the country. 

SSC GD Constable Exam in English and Hindi only

Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted by the Commission in English & Hindi only.

SSC GD Constable: Physical examination
 
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME) will be scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs. Collection of required eligibility certificates/ documents from the candidates and their verification will be carried out at the time of Detailed Medical Examination (DME) by the CAPFs.

SSC GD Constable Salary Pay Scale: Rs 21700- 69100.

SSC GD Constable: Vacancies 

The total number of vacancies for Constable (GD) Examination is 54,953. The vacancies are Tentative. Any change in the number of vacancies will be intimated through the website of the Commission

SSC GD Constable: Educational Qualifications (as on 01.08.2018)

Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University.
(i) Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on 01.08.2018 will not be eligible and need not apply.
(ii) The candidates must bring all relevant documents/ certificates in original with self attested copies pertaining to age, education, caste, domicile, hill area, any category for relaxation, No Objection Certificate (NOC)/ discharge certificate (in case of ex- servicemen), which will be checked/ verified at the time of DME by CAPF Board.
(iii) The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence, that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cutoff date i.e. 01.08.2018 and he/ she has been declared passed, will be considered to have the requisite Educational Qualification.

SSC GD Constable: Examination process: 

SSC GD constable Exam Date - To be announced officially by the SSC. 

All candidates whose online applications are found to be in order will be called to appear in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). The Computer based examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with the
following composition:

All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. The computer-based examination will be conducted in English and Hindi only.

SSC GD Constable: Exam Syllabus

A. General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks): Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non- verbal series, coding, and decoding, etc.

B. General Knowledge and General Awareness (25 marks): Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Elementary Mathematics (25 marks): This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

D. English/ Hindi (25 marks): Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested. 

The questions in all the above components will be of Matriculation level.
