Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, and Sun Pharma are among the stocks that dragged down the Sensex. Sensex witnessed a day's high of 39,750 points and low of 39,644.36 points till 9:50 am.

HCL, PowerGrid, TCS, YES Bank, Infosys, TATA Steel are among the top gainers on the BSE. At 9:45 am, Nifty was at 11,912.45 points, down 16.30  points or 0.14 percent. The market sentiment was mostly pessimistic. In the benchmark Nifty 20 stocks advanced while 29 declined and one remained unchanged at 9:47 am.

GAIL, Infratel, Wipro, PowerGrid, and TCS are the top Nifty gainers, while Vedanta, SBI, UPL, ICICIBANK are the drags on the index. Most of the Nifty sectoral indices fell. Only Nifty FMCG and IT gained marginally.

Indian Rupee opened lower at 69.75 against the US dollar over Tuesday's close of 69.69. Many companies are slated to release March quarter results today. Therefore, traders are making very cautious deal.
