Indian equity indices opened flat on Tuesday, amid global cues and awaiting corporate results. Sensex opened at 39,765.64 against the previous day's close of 39,683.29 points. The 30-scrip index hit the day's high of 39,784.10 points. YES Bank, Vedanta, PowerGrid, Coal India, IndusInd, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, M&M, ONGC, L&T, Axis Bank, and Tata Motors are the top Sensex gainers. ICICI Bank, SBI, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCL Tech, Hindustan Uniliver, and Bharti Airtel are the top losers Sensex losers.

At 9:26 am, Nifty was trading at 11,945.75 points or 21 points up. In the Nifty index, 33 shares advanced, while 17 declined. YES Bank, Adani Port, and GAIL are the top Nifty gainers, Cipla, ONGC, TCS, SBI, and ICICI Bank are the top losers. 

Nifty Sectoral indices also was mostly flat. Nifty PSU Bank index was over 1 percent down. The traders were cautious, as global uncertainties remain, and also due to awaited corporate results. After gaining more than 1 per cent on Monday, oil prices wavered. Brent crude fell 0.26 percent to $69.93 per barrel.
 
Indian rupee too opened down today at 69.65/$ against the yesterday's close of 69.49.

As relief over EU election results eased concerns about political difficulties, Asian shares gained. However, the gain was range-bound. MSCI`s Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.07 percent in early trade, and S&P 500 e-mini futures rose 0.14 percent to 2,835.75, Reuters reported.
However, the trade tension between the US and China still remains heightened.
