Sensex falls 300 points; Nifty down 80 points

The 30-scrip index of BSE fell over 300 points in the afternoon trade on the stock exchange on Thursday.

At 14:15 hours, the Sensex index was trading down 322.69 points, or 1.19%, at 26,697.97 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). 

Sensex, which had closed at 27,020.66 on Wednesday, had opened lower at 26,994.48 in the early morning trade on Thursday.

The 50-scrip index of National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell over 80 points in the afternoon session.

At 14:13 hours, the Nifty index was trading down 82.40 points, or 1%, at 8,190.65 on the NSE.  

Nifty, which had closed at 8,273.05 points on Wednesday, opened at 8,273.35 points in the early morning trade.
